Edilillie Single Vineyard Shiraz, Clare Valley 2017
Edilillie, pronounced Edi – Lily, is Aboriginal for two hills and a water source, and is the name of a small country town in South Australia. The vineyard is located in the hamlet of Sevenhill in the Clare Valley. A small, family run operation, the wines display a true sense of place, capturing the essence of the Clare Valley. Really pretty and lifted aromas of blueberry, dark cherry, violets, mulberry, spice and some whole bunch lift. The palate has lovely suppleness and a drive of blue and dark fruits. There's some creamy oak shaping the fruit nicely and the tannins and acidity deliver mouth-feel, poise and presence. A smart wine that's really drinking in the zone. 93 points.
