The Yard Riversdale Cabernet Sauvignon, Frankland River 2019

Larry Cherubino is regarded as one of Australia’s finest winemakers and the wines he crafts out some of the finest vineyard sites in the south-west of Western Australia are truly outstanding. This is a five-year-old cabernet that is absolutely singing. Sourced from a single vineyard in the Great Southern sub-region of Frankland River, this is archetypal cabernet. Still inky and opaque in colour, aromas are of blackberry, mulberry, graphite, bramble, and ferrous earth. The palate is generously flavoured, chock full of dark fruits, spice and cedary oak. True to cabernets’ raison d’etre, the tannins are shapely, serious and deliver fabulous mouthfeel and length. A big-time cab that screams out for a rare rib-eye.
